Envirotect Decompression Manifold (Expansion Chamber)
Calm the Surge and Maximize Separation Efficiency
Protect your oil/water separator and streamline your plumbing with the Envirotect Decompression Manifold. Designed as the critical interface between your high-pressure drain lines and your low-pressure Envirotect unit, this expansion chamber ensures that condensate enters the separator smoothly, quietly, and effectively.
When automatic timer drains or zero-loss valves discharge, they release a high-velocity blast of compressed air and liquid (often at 100+ PSI). If plumbed directly into a separator, this turbulence creates “emulsification”—mixing the oil and water so violently that they cannot separate efficiently. The Decompression Manifold absorbs this energy, venting the compressed air safely and allowing the liquid to flow into the separator via gravity.
Key Features & Benefits
- Prevents Emulsification: By venting the pressure before the liquid reaches the media bed, this unit ensures the condensate enters the separator in a calm, laminar flow. This prevents the oil and water from being “whipped” into a froth, significantly improving the life and performance of your filter media.
- Multi-Port Connectivity: Acts as a central hub for your compressor room. Instead of running messy individual lines to the separator, you can connect multiple drain sources (compressors, dryers, tanks, filters) into this single manifold.
- Noise Reduction: Equipped with a diffusion system or muffler that dampens the loud “hiss” and “pop” associated with drain valve discharge, contributing to a quieter plant environment.
- Visual Flow Verification: Typically constructed with clear or semi-transparent components (or sight ports), allowing you to visually verify that drains are firing and liquid is moving correctly.
- Back-Pressure Relief: Ensures that multiple drains firing simultaneously don’t create back-pressure that prevents other drains from opening.
